Asas Policies

Students Code of Conduct

2016-2017

Dear parents,

As we begin an exciting new school year, we would like to bring forth the student’s code of conduct to help create a discipline and healthy school environment for all students. School is providing a set of expected behavior regarding uniform, class conduct, and test and exam policy, to ensure that we create an environment where all students can excel.

Students are required to adhere to the standard prescribed uniform and refrain from using accessories to wear the standard uniform and not according to the prevailing fashion trends. (Improper uniform fine = Rs. 25/- per day)

Regular Attendance

Student must attend school regularly and should have minimum 80% attendance and 70% marks to be eligible for CIE registration.

Punctuality

Students must be on time for school i.e. 07:40am or according to the time indicated on the gate pass. (Late arrival fine =Rs. 25/- per day)

VI to O’/A’ Levels

ATTENDANCE

  • It is essential for the students to have 80% attendance in each subject that they have opted for.
  • Any student, who has unexcused absences in excess of ten in any given subject during a semester, may be asked to withdraw from that subject.
  • Any student missing a specific class or classes while on the school premises shall be suspended without appeal on the third offence
  • All assignments not submitted will be marked with a 0% and will be used in determining the student’s term assessment
  • Mid-year, Mock and Final Examinations are compulsory for all students and any absentees will be awarded a “U” grade.

INTERNAL EXAMINATIONS

Any student found in violation of this policy:

  • Will not be allowed to sit for the mid-term and final examinations
  • Will be detained in the same class

EXTERNAL EXAMINATIONS

Any student found in violation of this policy

  • Will not be allowed to register through the school for the external GCE “O” Level exams to be taken in May/June or November.
  • Deliberately missing (Without prior approval from the office) any assignments, tests and examinations will be awarded a “U” grade on their transcript in the respective subjects.

We look forward to the support of the parents in their regard.

Work habits

They are expected to attend each class to meet performance standards, to do the necessary class work, home work accurately on time and to prepare properly for tests and examinations.

Carrying Mobile/Camera/Ipods/Cd ect

Carrying mobiles, cameras, Ipods is strictly prohibited. Any body found in possession of these will be fined and the items confiscated without warning. (Confiscation fine = Rs. 2000/-)

Respect for self and other

Students are expected to be honest, behaving with dignity and treat others with respect and courtesy. This includes the use of appropriate language, actions and attire.

Respect for authority

Students must comply and obey with all school rules and regulations; respond in a respectful manner to all personas while participating in school sponsored activities.

Respect for property

Must treat all property belonging to the school and to others with care.

There is no warning given for physical fights/ scuffles both parties whether guilty or innocent are liable for on spot suspension/expulsion/paying heavy fine (Rs. 3000/- to Rs.5000/-), until the findings are completed.

The school code of conduct shall apply to inappropriate student’s behavior on school premises. It may apply to conduct occurring off campus or when the classes are not in session to avoid any adverse effects to the school educational goals and objectives and the students themselves.

Course of Action

  • Verbal warning

  • Written Warning/ parents to be called
  • Suspension
  • Detention after school
  • Expulsion

The above mentioned course of action will depend on the gravity of the situation/student’s part discipline and academic record.

Classes VI & VII

50% overall pass %
50% in all other subjects and 50% in English

Classes VIII, IX & X O’ Levels

60% in English and four other subjects (5 in all irrespective of compulsory or elective subjects)

Classes XI & XII A’ Levels

60 in all the three subjects (2/3 & 3/5)

Conditional Promotion without a re-test

Un-graded in one or two elective subjects

Result withheld (Retest)

Must clear all core subjects: English, Urdu, Mathematics & Science (I-V) English, Urdu, Mathematics, Islamiat, Science & Pak Studies (VI-VIII)

Detention

Un-graded in three or more subjects (elective or core)
Promotion subject to clearance to the re-test with 60% marks

Detention cases falling in the category of a re-test

  • Re-test in the first week of August
  • Pass percentage =60%
  • Promotion subject to the clearance of the re-test
  • Charges for the retest Rs. 2000/- per subject
  • Re-test in three or more subjects Rs. 5000/-

Mocks will be held in March and will form the basis for promotion of AI students to A2, subject to the condition that they achieve 60% in all the subjects. Same condition applies to A2 students to be eligible for registration for CIE.
